
Lab0B - Configuring the Lab
Automated configuration using Ansible from the adsecvm Linux system to set up your Active Directory environment
Prerequisites Required
Before starting this lab, ensure you have:
- Completed Lab0A with all systems configured
- Internet connectivity on all Windows systems
- adsecvm Linux virtual machine running
- All VMs using correct IP addresses and passwords
Introduction
In this lab, we will now use Ansible from our Linux adsecvm
to configure the Windows systems.
We will configure two systems:
dc01
- This is the domain controller systemclient1
- This is the client system
We will use the adsecvm
to remotely configure the domain controller as dc01
and client system as client1
. You will need the adsecvm
downloaded from the provided link to configure the dc01
and client1
.

Network Connectivity ✅
- ☐ All VMs can ping each other
- ☐ DNS resolution from clients to dc01
- ☐ Domain controller services running
- ☐ client1 successfully joined to domain
- ☐ All VMs have internet connectivity
System Configuration ✅
- ☐ talespin.lab domain is operational
- ☐ Administrator accounts work on all systems
- ☐ Windows Defender disabled on all Windows VMs
- ☐ VMware Tools installed and working
- ☐ Ansible playbooks completed successfully
